My favourite books of 2020

One of my goals for 2020 was to read more books, and I aimed to read at least one book per month. Initially I wanted to read more to help me sleep, but I found it helped with plenty of other things too. I spent less time on my phone and watching tv, but the biggest change was in my mental health.
I struggle with anxiety and my mind tends to race constantly. However, I noticed that when I was reading a good book my mind was distracted. That doesn’t happen often (if at all!) so it was a much welcomed feeling.
I’m quite lucky that I come from a family of readers, and so there is always heaps of books doing the rounds. I realised quite quickly that I can read almost anything. Whether its romantic, soppy, tear-jerking fiction, thrillers, murder-mysteries or educational psychology books, my mind will be happily distracted.
I’ve included links to the books I read over the past year and also a list of those on my must-read list for 2021. Hopefully if you’re on the lookout for a new book, this will help narrow down your search. I also have a previous post on books I enjoyed (circa 2018) which you can find here.
