Foreo Bear Review
This post is a collaboration with FOREO. The BEAR device and SERUM SERUM SERUM were sent to me in return for my honest, unbiased review. As always, all opinions, words and images are my own. This post contains affiliate links.
After recently trying out the FOREO UFO 2 (and falling head over heels in love with it!), I was given the opportunity to try the latest product in the FOREO range, BEAR.
How does it work
BEAR is the first anti-ageing product from FOREO. It combines advanced micro-current and T-Sonic pulsations to exercise the muscles of the face and neck. This helps tighten the skin and create a more contoured appearance. It’s patented Anti-Shock System makes FOREO BEAR a safe and effective at-home spa experience.
Micro-current Pulsations
BEAR emits an advanced electrical microcurrent through its two spheres (or ears!) which mimic the body’s own natural processes. These micro-currents simulate a workout for the face and neck, helping to build collagen, repair elastin & tone the muscles. This helps achieve a more rested complexion and improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
BEAR has five different micro-current settings which help customise your treatment. My advice would be to start off with a low-intensity setting. This way, you can determine your skin’s tolerance and reaction to the treatment and build up to a stronger intensity over time.
t-sonic Pulsations
BEAR uses T-Sonic pulsations which penetrate deep into the skin and help to massage and exfoliate the skin without pulling on it. This helps to detox the face and neck and ease facial tension, resulting in smoother, softer skin.
how to use bear
To start using BEAR you will need your device and a water-based serum or conductivity gel (you can use any brand).
FOREO kindly sent me their lightweight, antioxidant-rich SERUM SERUM SERUM, which contains hyaluronic acid and squalane. This serum acts as a conductive gel which ensures that the electrical micro-current passes from the BEAR device into the muscle. Without it, you will feel shock-like sensations on the surface of the skin and the treatment won’t work.
“>You can use the BEAR device in manual or automatic mode. Manual mode can be activated on the device itself by selecting the universal button. The lights underneath the button indicate the intensity of the treatment. You can change this by quick-pressing the universal button. To turn T-Sonic Pulsations on or off, you can double press the universal button. Alternatively, you can connect your device to the FOREO For You app, and select your preferred treatment.
step by step guide
Step 1
Cleanse using your product of choice, and make sure that your skin is completely clean and dry.
Step 2
Apply SERUM SERUM SERUM (or alternative water-based serum) all over your face and neck ensuring good coverage across all of the areas you wish to target with your treatment.
Step 3
If you are using the app, follow the step-by-step instructions provided on the screen.
If you are using manual mode, you may wish to follow the steps outlined below:
- Hold the metallic spheres against your face.
- Move the device to your cheek area and glide across the contour of your cheekbones. Repeat three times on each side.
- Move the device up towards your forehead, and glide in upward motions from your eyebrow to your hairline. Repeat three times.
- Place the metallic spheres on either side of your chin and glide across your jaw in an upward-sweeping motion. Repeat three times on each side.
- Circle around your mouth area. Repeat three times.
Be sure to always use the device slowly and in an upward motion and apply it with light pressure for enhanced results.
Step 4
Switch off BEAR and clean it using warm water and soap. Use a towel or cloth to pat dry.
Step 5
To finish, apply the rest of your skincare as normal. I love to use my BEAR in the evening time, so tend to follow with my nighttime skincare routine after use.
the verdict
I was a little bit sceptical after the first use of BEAR. While I did have a lovely glow and my skin felt soft and supple after use, I didn’t feel or look any different. However, 6-8 treatments in I started to see a slight improvement in the tone around my jawline.
Now, after three months of continuous use, I am confident in the results. The biggest difference I have noticed is in the contour of my cheekbones, and the softening of fine lines around my eyes. I am so happy and will continue to incorporate the BEAR device into my nighttime routine every 2-3 days.
Of course, this may be an investment product to some and it is by no means a necessary addition to your beauty regime. However, if you are a beauty enthusiast like myself, and if you compare the cost to your average course of facials, you’re getting a much better deal. Your skin (unlike anything else!) is something that you wear every single day, and I am a firm believer that it is worth investing in.
