Life Update: We bought a house!
Thing’s have been extremely quiet over here lately. In case you missed the news, Myself and Andrew finally bought a house! We got the keys at the end of October and since then it has been crazy. Between cleaning, painting and DIY in the lead up to Christmas my blog naturally took a back seat.
So, in an effort to focus more on the things I love in 2021, I’ve decided to make it my new year’s resolution to blog more regularly. As a result, I thought it would make sense to add a new home section to my blog. After all, it is what I am spending most of my time (and money) on right now.
I think it will be a great way for me to share my passion for interiors, along with touching on key parts of the first-time buyer process that we found tricky to navigate.
Some of the topics I plan to cover include:
-
- The mortgage approval process
- Choosing where to buy and your house checklist
- Viewing houses
- Bidding, deposits & going sale agreed
- Solicitors, valuations, surveys & Insurance
- DIY transformations
- Interior finds & styling tips
I’ll go through our experience and the key decisions we made throughout the process. I’ll do my best to highlight the things we found difficult and confusing and also the things that just stressed us out. Hopefully it will be helpful to others going through the first-time-buyer process or starting to think about it.
As always, if there are any topics that you are specifically interested in me covering, please feel free to send me a DM, or comment below.
In case you’re curious, we set up an instagram account to document the transformation of our home. You can find usĀ @oldtoneutral.
